The HPE Aruba Compatible 40GBASE SWDM4 Bi-Directional QSFP+Transceiver is designed for use in 40 Gigabit Ethernet links over duplex multimode fibre (MMF). This transceiver is compliant with the QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba XLPPI electrical interface. The SWDM4 transceiver enables reuse of its existing 10G duplex MMF infrastructure for migration to 40G with a path toward 100G. Digital diagnostics functions are available via an I2C interface, as specified by the QSFP+ MSA, to allow access to real-time operating parametres. It features a bi-directional design with the Tx port transmitting 40G data over four separate wavelengths (850nm, 880nm, 910nm, and 940nm).
With these features, this easy to install, hot swappable transceiver is suitable to be used in various applications, such as 40G Ethernet and Enterprise Data Center.
Note: This module has been tested on Switch built-in "ArubaOS-CX", if you want to use it with "ArubaOS" switch, we suggest initiating a test order in advance.

The 40G SWDM4 can achieve 40G short-range transmission through duplex LC like 40G SRBD. But quad-band SWDM4 will not interoperate with dual-wavelength SRBD.
